THEOLOGY STUDENT CHARGED WITH MURDERING HUSBAND IN KITCHEN WITH KNIFE

FULLERTON – An Anaheim theology student was charged today with murdering her husband with a kitchen knife last November.  Jee Hyun Song, 28, Anaheim, was arrested without incident by Anaheim Police officers at her home yesterday afternoon.  Song will be appearing in N-3 or N-12, North Justice Center, Fullerton at 1:30 p.m. on May 11, 2006.  She is being held on $1 million bail.  If convicted, she faces 26 years to life.

On the evening of November 10, 2005, Song is accused of stabbing her husband Dong Uk Kim, 24, in the chest with a knife and killing him.  Mr. Kim’s body was found in the kitchen by Anaheim Police officers at about 10:30 p.m.  They were both students at Bethesda Christian University in Anaheim.

Ms. Song was released pending further investigation.  Additional evidence developed by the Anaheim Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff Coroner’s Office led to the recent filing of the charges.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Howard Gundy of the Homicide Unit is prosecuting this case.
