TWO BROTHERS TO BE ARRAIGNED FOR MOLESTING IN CONCERT AND TAKING TURNS SEXUALLY ASSAULTING 3 AND 7 YEAR OLD GIRLS

SANTA ANA – Two brothers will be arraigned tomorrow for molesting two little girls, ages 3 and 7 years old, who lived in the same neighborhood. Cristobal Ortiz Rodriguez, 35, and his brother Eduardo Ortiz Rodriguez, 33, both of Fullerton, are each charged with two felony counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child under 10 years old, six felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old, and a sentencing enhancement allegation for committing a sexual crime against more than one victim. If convicted, the defendants each face a maximum sentence of 120 years to life in state prison. Rodriguez and Rodriguez are each being held on $1 million bail and are scheduled for a continued arraignment tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in Department CJ-1, Central Jail, Santa Ana.

In May 2010, the Rodriguez brothers are accused of living in a converted garage in a home in Fullerton. They are accused of gaining access to 7-year-old Jane Doe #1 and 3-year-old Jane Doe #2, who lived nearby.

Between May 2010 and August 2011, the defendants are accused of molesting the two little girls while the defendants were together, one after the other, and on their own at separate times. The sexual conduct included touching, masturbation, digital penetration, oral copulation, and showing pornographic images to the victims.

The defendants are accused of grooming the victims and bribing them not tell anyone about the molest with candy and ice cream.

Jane Doe #1 disclosed the sexual assault against her and Jane Doe #2 to a family member in late August 2011, and Rodriguez and Rodriguez were arrested by the Fullerton Police Department (FPD) on Aug. 26, 2011.

FPD investigated this case.
