WOMAN CHARGED WITH STALKING AND ASSAULT FOR TRYING TO RUN OVER MOTORCYCLE MOGUL AT HOME HE SHARED WITH ACTRESS SANDRA BULLOCK
WESTMINSTER – Charges have been filed against Marcia Diane Valentine, 56, Huntington Beach, for trying to run over motorcycle mogul Jesse James at the Sunset Beach home he shared with his actress wife, Sandra Bullock. Valentine has been charged with one count of felony aggravated assault and one count of felony stalking. If convicted on all counts, Valentine faces a maximum sentence of four years eight months in prison. She was released on $25,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the West Justice Center in Westminster. The time and department are to be determined.
On April 22, 2007, James saw Valentine, whom he has seen in front of his house before, parked in front of the home. Valentine is accused of frequenting the area of the home for several months, leaving items behind on the property and lying in the driveway. When James went outside, Valentine is accused of screaming obscenities at the victim, getting into her silver Mercedes Benz, and reversing her car in an effort to run over James. She is accused of narrowly missing the victim and reversing again to try and hit him, and then fleeing the scene. Valentine was arrested the following day while driving in the area by Orange County Sheriff’s deputies.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Olivieri of the Special Prosecutions Unit is prosecuting this case.
