YOUTH COUNSELOR CONVCITED OF
MOLESTING 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL AT
YMCA IN RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA
LAGUNA NIGUEL – A counselor for the YMCA was convicted today of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl during program hours on-site at a Rancho Santa Margarita YMCA facility. John Brandon Mohler, 34, Lake Forest, pleaded guilty to lewd acts on a child under 14. He was sentenced to one year in jail, five years formal probation, and will have to register as a sex offender.
Between March 1, 2007 and March 31, 2007, Mohler molested Jane Doe during program hours while working at the YMCA in Rancho Santa Margarita at 22232 El Paseo. He put his hand underneath and up the shirt of the 10-year-old victim. He also grabbed her buttocks.
Deputy District Attorney Tony Ferrentino of the Sexual Assault Unit prosecuted this case.
